In a post on their Facebook page, Margot's parents announced on Sunday the death of their four-year-old daughter, affected by mandibulofacial dysostosis-microcephaly syndrome (MFDM). The story of this child, born without ears or ear canals on November 21, 2020, had touched many Internet users. She also had Pierre Robin syndrome, a malformation of the palate and chin that causes breathing problems.
"Margot, our wonderful little girl, flew away in her sleep, peacefully... much too soon, much too quickly," the two parents wrote on the social network. "Our world stopped, leaving a huge void, a pain that nothing can fill."
The little girl's parents looked for an operation that could restore her hearing, but the only one in France that could succeed in the procedure focused only on the "aesthetic aspect" , as they explained to the Dauphiné Libéré . The couple turned to the United States and found an operation at an exorbitant price: 200,000 euros. The young parents then created the association "Ears for Margot" and launched an online kitty . Around 55,000 euros were raised before the child's death.
"For those who wish to leave a little last thought for Margot, we would like natural flowers, preferably pink, Margot's color," specify the two parents. The burial will take place this Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Atur cemetery ( Dordogne ).
